Calling All Grown-Ups   Leave a comment

Tammy tagged me with this quiz on Facebook but I figured I’d use it for blog fodder instead.  Feel free to copy and paste into your own blog.
Tired of all of those surveys made up by “high school kids” (or adults who use sub-standard English)? Here’s a list of questions for the people who are a little older (or with a little more life experience)… Copy and paste into your own note, then answer the questions. Finally, tag your friends (including me, please!). I think I’ve done this one before, but here it is again.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
I hate paying the credit card bills because they are so HIGH!  We charge everything to get the miles, rewards, etc. and pay them off every month – and we pay them online so I don’t have to write a check for them.

2. Do you miss being a child?
Sometimes I do because I had an idyllic childhood – plus I’d like to see my parents and sister again.

3. Chore you hate the most?
Cleaning the bathroom – even though it’s all new I still hate cleaning it.

4. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Last week at the Bitter Creek Inn in Stewart, BC.

5. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
I hate to sound like my mother, but I wouldn’t change anything because the mistakes I made in the past make me the person I am today. It’s hard to see that at the time, but I don’t really regret anything I’ve done.  (NOTE:  I stole this answer from Tammy because it’s true for me too – and my mother told me the same thing I told her.)

6. Name of your first grade teacher?
Mrs. Evans.

7. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Playing with my dog but he’s 2000+ miles away.

8. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Anything but a teacher.

9. How many colleges did you attend?
3 – BS from Drury, started my MBA at MSU and finished with an MHA from SBU
10. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It’s a long-sleeved t-shirt and I chose it to keep me warm today on the motorcycle.
11. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
That they are a heck of a lot higher in Canada and on the west coast.

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
I didn’t set one last night.

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Wishing I was home in my comfy bed – the one we had last night wasn’t the best.

14. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Stephen Pastis or Bill Gates

15. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
No but I’ve had a few fender-benders.

16. If you didn’t have to work, would you volunteer?
I don’t work and I do volunteer – and volunteering is much more rewarding than the day job.

17. Get up early or sleep in?
I like to get up early and drink coffee on the deck when it’s warm – but if I stay up late reading then I sleep later – until 7ish.

18. What is your favorite cartoon character?
Pig in “Pearls Before Swine”

19. Favorite thing to do at night?
Hang out at home

20. When did you first start feeling old?
I don’t know that I really feel old although I guess I am – but can’t remember when.  It’s all in your head anyway.

21. Favorite lunch meat?
Don’t really eat lunch meat, but I like turkey and Boca burgers.

22. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
Weight Watchers yogurt – they have the cheapest in town.

23. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Absolutely not

24. Favorite movie you wouldn’t want anyone to find out about?
Don’t have one.

25. What’s your favorite drink?
Frozen raspberry margarita with sugar on the rim – or Bud Light Lime

26. Who from high school would you like to run in to?
All the people I’d like to see I’m in contact with.

27. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
Have no clue – haven’t driven it in almost 3 weeks.

28. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Desperate Housewives for sure.

29. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
Revealed on a need-to-know basis only.

30. Do you like the person that sits directly across from you at work?
I don’t work and when I did I had my own office.

31. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purposes?
Nope
32. Last book you finished reading?
The Debutante Divorce by Plum Sykes – total chick-lit but a fun read on the motorcycle

33. Do you have a teddy bear?
I have 3 that I keep for the grand-kids – my favorite is the one dressed in Tour of Missouri bicycle shorts, jersey and helmet.

34. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Why is this stupid question in here?  I have no clue.

35. Do you go to church?
Yes – attend King’s Way United Methodist every week if we’re home.

36. How old are you?
I prefer how old I’d be if I didn’t know how old I really was so let’s say mid-40′s.  I refuse to act my age and am occasionally mistaken for my daughter so don’t think I look it either but it really doesn’t matter to me.  I just want to feel good, be healthy and enjoy life.

Glad that’s the end – some of those questions were really inane!
