Extreme Makeover   1 comment

Once again it’s time for me to take stock of my slovenly habits and get back in gear with a more structured plan of eating and exercise.  I seem to constantly be my own worst enemy – I get my weight down under my WW goal weight and then I get lazy.  I have stopped tracking my points despite the fact that I’m paying for the privilege and I have gotten back into that mindset of thinking I can just “think myself thin” but it’s not happening!

Just a few pounds have put me at the max (maybe over – haven’t weighed in for a couple of weeks) for my WW goal weight and I also don’t feel thin.

So – I’m kicking off June with a new/old approach – a new determination to rededicate my efforts to the old methods which have served me well in the past.  I know I just have to track my points, record every morsel I eat, use will power (or more correctly, “won’t” power) and reward myself with things like reading time instead of chips.

While I doubt I lose 5 pounds by Thursday when I need to wear my favorite suit (it fits now – will fit better when it’s me -5#), just knowing I’m focused makes me feel better.

I have already posted my breakfast, lunch and snack points plus maximum activity points even though I’m way over on activity time and intensity today.  Looks like I can stay within my 24 points (includes activity points) today quite easily – although we’re eating dinner tonight at the Shrine and I have no clue what the menu will be.  I’ll just take some fruit and a couple of fiber bars to go along with the veggies they serve….just in case.  And when it comes time for dessert, I’ll pull out my knitting to keep my hands busy.

I also got back on the bike today – first time since I got it off the indoor trainer a few weeks ago.  Here are my ride stats for the day:

Distance:  20.49 miles – my house to Meyer Center, Kaldi’s Coffee House, Library and home

Total riding time:  1:43

Average MPH – 11.8 MPH – not bad for city traffic

Roadkill – 4 – 2 squirrels, 1 bird, 1 armadillo

Money found – 1 nickel

# of drivers on cell phones – can’t count that high

# of 1-finger salutes from drivers – 0

Exhileration from being outside riding on a beautiful spring day – PRICELESS!

  1. Good for you!! I hear you on the getting back on track. I have rejoined WW online, but my tracking of points has not been consistent. Time for me to take a cue from you and kick it into gear. Your bike time sounds awesome!
