Running Hot and Cold

The bathroom project is moving full steam ahead and the end really is in sight.  No joke!

The vanity went in a couple of days ago and is a perfect fit.  Of course it didn’t just slide in on its own – it managed to take a small chunk of drywall with it but I had suspected there would be a few wall dings before it was in place so I was mentally prepared.

Today I put yet another coat of paint on the walls and when Burl got home from golf, he installed the sink and faucet along with the showerhead.  img_0113 Naturally the process included a few “gosh dang its” from Burl – and even had him reading the directions at one point.

He got it all in, turned on the water and realized the hot and cold pipes were reversed.  I insisted it didn’t matter one bit to me but of course he had to re-do the fittings to make it correct.  Best of all, it doesn’t leak!

We took a break around 7, cleaned up and went to Tuscan Grill for a yummy dinner and beer.  A big thanks to Tammy and Steve who loaned us their special coupon so my dinner was free.  It was just the recess we needed from this project and when we got home I put another coat of paint on the door trim and baseboards and Burl is watching the PGA from earlier today.

True to my nature, I just had to make a list of all that remains to be done – not only will the list allow me to prioritize but when I finish a task, I get the pleasure of marking that item off the list.

Tomorrow Burl’s working at church most of the day but plans to install the over-the-stool cabinet, baseboards and stool when he gets home.  As soon as the shower curtain rod is hung, I’ll be back in my own bathroom and he’ll be a happy camper.

Time for some knitting and reading – I’ve earned it today!

  1. Wow – That looks great Anne!

  2. That sink is really cool! I know you know how spoiled you are to have such a great handyman for a hubby, but I’m going to say it again – SPOILED!!!
