I haven’t knit a sweater for myself since Tammy was a toddler so it was with a little trepidation that I started one called the February Lady Sweater. True to my nature, I began it in March and finished it in April – so much for the February aspect.
I knit it with a yarn called Atacama which is 100% Alpaca hand dyed by Araucania Yarns from Chile. The yarn was so great to work with and the pattern quite easy once I got into the rhythm of the lace pattern. It’s knit from the top down with no seams – what’s not to like about that since my least favorite part of knitting is seaming. Definitely a pattern I’ll use again.
Now I’m ready to start what is being called the April sweater – and for that I’m using a Noro sock yarn in lots of vibrant spring colors.
Check out the yarns and cool patterns at She’s Crafty. Now I need to check my gauge and get going and perhaps my April sweater will be ready to wear in May!
Looking great girlfriend… love the sweater and even if it’s your Feb sweater… heck in the Ozarks… it works in April too.
What a great picture! The sweater is really cute and looks great in person. Good job! You sure won’t catch me doing something as crafty as knitting – I don’t have the talent or the patience!
Btw, I’d like to place an early order for the Christmas scarf. Maybe something orange in a lacy pattern…
Gorgeous!! Love it, such a cute style! And hey, a Februrary sweater that you didn’t finish til April is just fine… not like you’ve just been sitting around twiddling your thumbs- you’re just as busy in Life 2.0 as you were in Life 1.0, I’m sure!
