Burl doesn’t cuss. Yes, you heard right – the guy doesn’t cuss. He is so sweet and squeaky clean that I’m not sure how he ended up with me but in the 4-letter word department, he has been a positive influence. I’ve heard him say the “F” word once and it was appropriately aimed at our soon-to-be-ex son-in-law (can’t be soon enough either!)
I’m sure he has been tempted over the last few days as he has wrestled (and finally won) the battle with the new shower/tub combo. I’ve alternately cringed and laughed at his cries of “gosh dang it” and “dadgummit” but never once has he resorted to the phrases I would have chosen.
I’ve been of little to no help on this project so far – today I had my weight-lifting class and then enjoyed a great visit and leisurely lunch with dear friend Barb – although I did stop and pick up tub caulk for him. I’ve also been in charge of the shop vac and managed to hand him screws of the right size. He plans to teach me all the names of his tools so I can become his assistant! Scalpel! Needle! Suture!
Photos will be available soon – but right now I need to clean up to have dinner with friends. All work and no play will make him dull – or eventually cuss!
