My friend, Laura Ward, invited me to a Gold Party today – billed as a party where you leave with $ instead of spending it, plus food and drinks to boot! What’s not to like? With the price of gold at a recent all-time high I figured there was nothing to lose.
I scoured through my jewelry box and decided to part with the wedding band I got from Starter Husband (have no idea why I still had it) plus a broken gold chain, a ring of unknown origin and a few other assorted pieces that turned out to be gold-filled.
Ended up selling the 2 rings and the chain for the grand sum of $60. Not a huge amount but certainly enough for some yarn shopping in the near future – especially since my friend Vanessa is going to share an awesome sweater pattern she designed.
Tammy fared even better with her gold stash. For once we went out on a Saturday afternoon and returned with more money than when we started!
