A few weeks ago I was chosen by Michelle Sherwood with KSPR to test a product called Mighty MendIt. If you’ve seen their ads on TV you know this product is highly touted as being able to glue just about anything together and will withstand winds of up to 100 MPH! Quite frankly, if I’m in a tornado or hurricane with those kind of winds, the staying power of Mighty MendIt may be the farthest thing from my mind but perhaps I’m not their target audience!
Michelle brought me a bottle of their product along with the instructions and we tested it – first on the collar of an American Girl doll dress where it failed miserably. Next we tried it on a duvet that had a long rip in it and it worked although it left the material very stiff.
Burl then decided to add some bling to his cell phone to make it easier to open. The first few blings he added didn’t stick well but after he roughed up the cell phone surface, they stuck. And finally, he used it to re-attach his name to his plastic golf cart cover and it was perfect.
Michelle interviewed us a couple of weeks ago about the product and the news story appeared last week while we were gone. If you want some kicks and grins, check it out here.
And watch KSPR tonight at 10 when Tammy tells you her consumer opinion of Smooth Away.
Better go sit by the phone – Hollywood may be calling at any time.
I can tell you what I think of the Smooth Away product in two words: it sucked.
