We had a perfect first full day yesterday – slept late, ate breakfast by the pool followed by a walking tour of downtown Tlaquepaque led by Lupita from the Tourism Bureau. She was able to explain the significance of the artwork and statues as well as tell us the history of this area – all in excellent English.
We did a little shopping but since this area is just a few blocks from our hotel, we know we can return here later in the week. Lunch was at an outside restaurant and then we had the afternoon free. We opted for more walking around the area and then Burl took a siesta while I laid by the pool (45 SPF) and read. By 5:00 it was time to get Charlie the bartender busy so we sampled his pina coladas – superb!
Last night we all had dinner at a local place – have no idea exactly what we ate but it was delicious. More walking after dinner just to walk off the food and drink!
Today we’re heading to a local day care center to do an art project with the kids. We brought lots of sidewalk chalk so it should be lots of fun.
Now for breakfast……..poolside………
