I’m in the throes of my new relationship with Facebook – those lusty days with a new squeeze when they consume all your time and energy. It seems like every hour or so during the day I feel the need to either check the computer or my iPhone to see if anyone has posted to my wall or if I have new friends or look at the comments my friends have written.
Thus it’s easy to forget about my trusty standby, my blog. I find I haven’t been composing posts in my mind which I often do while in the car or at the gym.
But never fear – my ADD will soon kick in and Facebook will be on the back burner and this blog will rise to the forefront of my mind again. I enjoy the act of composing and then writing it down – knowing that someone else reads it is really not that important to me. It’s good therapy.
I’ve been doing a lot of sewing the last couple of days – Ralph and the girls arrive tomorrow for a few days so Tammy can help Ralph pick out paint colors for their new home. Lydia will be 3 on Monday so of course we have to have her birthday celebration. Since Burl’s birthday is just a few days later they will celebrate together but Burl is having to settle for a Hello Kitty birthday cake and theme. I really don’t think he cares what’s on the cake – just so he has one!
Here’s what I’ve made this week.
Each of the girls will now have a Hello Kitty quilt for their doll plus a pink fleece hoodie and sweat pants. I’m working on a couple of other things that I can’t show yet but they will have to wait until after the weekend for me to finish them.
Yesterday I bought a needlepoint canvas of a calla lily on eBay and I’m hoping it will go with in my new sewing room (see the lovely yellow paint in this photo!). I have a couple of knitting things in progress too but when they are done I think I’ll dabble in needlepoint for a change – have to get something in the works to take with me on our trip to Mexico in a few weeks!
I have put off cleaning house all week in lieu of stuff that’s a lot more fun like sewing, working out, reading, etc. It seems to be my nature to put myself behind the 8-ball and now I have to hustle to clean up this place so Hurricane Ralph and her 2 beautiful daughters can descend upon us.
But I’ll be sewing again – or riding the motorcycle, weather permitting – by Sunday afternoon.
I love the sweatsuit!!! That is great!!!
