Tammy mentioned on her blog today that she has a new drug and I concur! Less than 24 hours ago, I joined Facebook and already I’m addicted. But I’ve already heard from a couple of sorority sisters from Drury as well as a high school friend and it appears almost everyone in my Rotary Club is a member. Fun stuff!
Friend Laura tagged me with 25 Random Things About Myself so I’ll share them here for those of you who aren’t on Facebook:
1. The most rewarding event in my life – hands down – has been giving birth to and raising my 2 daughters. They are both a blessing – one makes beautiful jewelry and one makes beautiful granddaughters but they are both smart, funny and beautiful and I love them both so much.
2. Crunchy – always. Forget creamy.
3. I’ve lived 2 places in my life – Fulton, MO and Springfield, MO.
4. I’ll never live long enough to read all the books I want to read – but I’m trying.
5. Since I met Burl we have logged more road miles on our motorcycle than in 4-wheeled vehicles – about 75,000 miles in less than 7 years of motorcycling.
6. I met Burl on the Internet – we lived 6 miles apart, had mutual friends and were engaged in 10 days after we met.
7. I have one dog, Mulligan, who came from an animal shelter – the only way to get a pet as far as I’m concerned.
8. I’m not retired – I’m in Life 2.0.
9. I say I don’t like to cook but in reality, I don’t like to plan meals – cooking itself isn’t so bad if I have the time to do it.
10. I can make a killer pie crust – from scratch.
11. I suffer mentally (and physically) when I don’t get 45-60 minutes of exercise in a day – weight lifting, StepClimber, power walking, racquetball, bicycling – just gotta do it!
12. I detest bad grammar and misspelled words – especially when people use “your” when they mean “you’re” or overuse apostrophes.
13. Most people think I’m an extrovert but I’m actually an introvert – and I’m hard to live with if I don’t get a sufficient amount of “alone” time daily.
14. Doing volunteer work is much more rewarding than doing a pesky day job.
15. My heroes in life are my parents – they both died in 1997 and I miss them every day.
16. I made my first Bucket List in 1992 – before that term was the title of a popular movie – but if I died today I would not feel I had missed one thing in life that truly mattered.
17. I love to sew, knit, do needlepoint but I’m not crafty – I rely on patterns and instructions because I’m not intrinsically artistic.
18. Before I met Burl, I lived for 12 years without a TV set – I inherited 7 when we married. Now I watch one show a week – “Desperate Housewives.”
19. I wish I could run but I have a bum left knee – I don’t really enjoy running that much but it’s a great way to get good exercise benefits in a short amount of time.
20. My favorite drinks are Bud Light Lime and frozen margaritas.
21. I was a finalist at the state spelling bee when I was in 6th grade. Made it to the top 10.
22. I have a very warped, sarcastic sense of humor.
23. I have a low tolerance for stupid people – not people who have a limited IQ but people who think they are smart but don’t bother to get the facts on what they are discussing.
24. I’d rather give than receive.
25. I love Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones and would love to see them live in concert.
Let me tell you – that was no easy task! What’s your list? And what’s up with all the hits on my blog these last 2 days? I’m Miss Popularity!
