Every time I see a Clint Eastwood flick I swear it’s his best ever – and “Gran Torino” certainly did not disappoint. Eastwood embodies the lead character of Walt Kowalski perfectly and deserves to finally win an acting Oscar along with the nod for directing. I won’t give away the story line (and whatever you do, do NOT read any reviews that reveal too much about the plot) but suffice it to say this is a movie that conjures up all your emotions.
I laughed and I cried – and in between I felt compassion and anger and grief and joy. And at the end there’s the music written by Clint Eastwood and his son Kyle - another example of his wide range of talents. And the title song is up for a Golden Globe as best song tomorrow night.
We have also confirmed that the Hollywood Theatres are our new favorite – free covered parking, great prices, 14 screens, stadium seating and comfy date seats. Almost like being at home except the picture and sound are better and I have to wear shoes!
