If you ever feel like you’re not loved or appreciated, just try leaving home for a couple of weeks and then see how your dog reacts upon your return!
We got home late this afternoon and Mulligan was so happy to see us – he kept running from one of us to the other, jumping up and down and wagging his tail. Our good friends and neighbors have 2 boys who are 10 and 12 so Alec and Jack played with him every day and brought in our mail and paper. We even left instructions that if it was going to be below 30, he could sleep inside at night.
I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised to see the couch in our den covered in dog hair and all the pillows on the floor. Clearly this canine was not going to sleep on the floor like a DOG – perish the thought!
But tonight we’ll sleep on his feather bed (on the floor) next to our bed and we’ll all sleep better since we’re back together.
