I’m kind of a lazy blogger today so I stole this from another blog I read regularly.  So here’s a meme to keep you occupied until later today when I post the December update on Women of Substance.  We’re having dinner tonight at the original Mexican Villa!

 Started my own blog
2. Slept under the star

3. Played in a band (I played clarinet starting in 5th grade through my sophomore year in high school)

4. Visited Hawaii
5. Watched a meteor shower – last one I saw was in 2002 on our honeymoon – watched it from a deck at a B&B in Berkeley, CA as we sipped wine at 3 a.m.
6. Given more than I can afford to charity
7. Been to Disneyland/world – NO – and I don’t ever plan to either
8. Climbed a mountain
9. Held a praying mantis
– not that I remember

10. Sung a solo – 6th grade Christmas program – I sang “I’m a Japanese Juggler Man” and wore oriental pajamas

11. Bungee jumped – same as #7
12. Visited Paris – yep – twice

13. Watched lightning at sea
14. Taught myself an art from scratch – I don’t think so – I’m kind of a learn from somebody else person
15. Adopted a child – nope – just stray pets
16. Had food poisoning
17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
18. Grown my own vegetables  
19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France – yep and I was surprised at how small the painting was
20. Slept on an overnight train – first time I remember was when I was 16 and went to the Girl Scout National Roundup in Button Bay, VT
21. Had a pillow fight
22. Hitchhiked – nope – not that adventurous…….or stupid
23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill (I call them mental health days!) – nope – never have – my mom would have killed me
24. Built a snow fort – plenty of them when I was a kid
25. Held a lamb
26. Gone skinny dipping – yeah but I was 12 and it was a Girl Scout camp

27. Run a marathon – nope – most I’ve done is an 8K

28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice – no but it’s one my list of thing to do
29. Seen a total eclipse
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset
31. Hit a home run
32. Been on a cruise
33. Seen Niagara Falls in person
– twice – first time was coming home from the Girl Scout National Roundup – second time was in 2005 on the motorcycle
34. Visited the birthplace of my ancestors – not yet
35. Seen an Amish community
36. Taught myself a new language – learned a little Thai before our trip 5 years ago
37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied
38. Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
39. Gone rock climbing
40. Seen Michelangelo’s David

41. Sung karaoke
42. Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant (McDonald’s Drive through counts, right?)
44. Visited Africa
45. Walked on a beach by moonlight
46. Been transported in an ambulance – only once – my first date with Burl
47. Had my portrait painted
48. Gone deep sea fishing
49. Seen the Sistine Chapel in person
50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris – yep, with Ralph
51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling
52. Kissed in the rain
53. Played in the mud

54. Gone to a drive-in theater
55. Been in a movie
56. Visited the Great Wall of China
57. Started a business

58. Taken a martial arts class – does it count if it was a self-defense class?

60. Served at a soup kitchen
61. Sold Girl Scout Cookies
62. Gone whale watching
63. Got flowers for no reason
64. Donated blood, platelets or plasma

66. Visited a Nazi Concentration Camp
67. Bounced a check

71. Eaten caviar – last time was on the Concorde – they served caviar and champagne at take-off
72. Pieced a quilt – I started one in 1975 and it’s partially done!

75. Been fired from a job
76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London
77. Broken a bone – it was only my little finger but it’s still a bone!
78. Been on a speeding motorcycle – only about 70,000 miles in 6+ years!
79. Seen the Grand Canyon in person – yep – hiked to the bottom and back
80. Published a book
81. Visited the Vatican
82. Bought a brand new car – only one in my life – a 1996 Honda Accord and I’m still driving it – only 167,000 miles
83. Walked in Jerusalem
84. Had my picture in the newspaper

85. Read the entire Bible
86. Visited the White House
87. Killed and prepared an animal for eating
88. Had chickenpox
89. Saved someone’s life – not that I know of
90. Sat on a jury – been called for jury duty but never served
91. Met someone famous
– depends on how you define “famous”
92. Joined a book club
93. Lost a loved one

94. Had a baby – 2 of them in fact – figured if 1 was great, 2 were even better and I was right
95. Seen the Alamo in person
96. Swam in the Great Salt Lake
97. Been involved in a lawsuit
98. Owned a cell phone
99. Been stung by a bee
100. Rode an elephant
– in 2004 in Thailand

 

If my counting is accurate, I’m at 63%
