Granddaughter Bella practiced her skills at blowing out candles by helping me a couple of weeks ago. Today it was her turn and she needed no help at all in blowing out the 3 candles on her cake.
Her party was held at the gym where she takes gymnastics and by time the kids chowed down on cake and juice, they were ready for a sugar fix to boost their energy. I played it safe and stayed off the trampoline – decided it was better to sit on the sidelines than risk a trip to ER on a Saturday!
Bella insisted that her cake be pink so big sister Tarah baked a strawberry cake and topped it off with pink frosting and a big “3″ in the middle. Trust me, anyone who gets within earshot of Bella now knows her age.
She opened her card from us, acted like she was reading it and then said “The card says ‘I’m 3 and I like my party’” – I’m sure that’s just the perfect message for Hallmark to start including in cards for the 3-year-old set.
The party got over about 6:30 so we decided to try Angeli’s Restaurant in Ozark on the way home. It’s offers Italian and Mediterranean fare which is a combination I’ve never experienced. Burl had the portabella pasta in a spicy pesto cream sauce and I had the chicken gyro – both were very good and I ended up nibbling at his pasta because I loved the sauce. My gyro would have been better with hummus in lieu of melted mozzarella cheese – just my humble suggestion. Still a decent meal at a very reasonable price.
The Christmas dress count for the little girls stands at 2 down – 1 to go………I’d better go cut out the 3rd one.
