Phoenix is Phabulous

Flew to Phoenix yesterday on our super-duper cheap Allegiant airfares – could have been cheaper is we had booked at the airport, not selected seats in advance (there were about 10 empty seats in the back of the plane so we could have sat together) or brought luggage with us.  Trust me, plenty of people carried on stuff that NEVER would have fit into the box in front of the ticket counter.  Talk about trying to put 20 pounds into a 5 pound overhead bin.  But the airlines have brought it on themselves with their crazy pricing structure.

The Phoenix-Mesa airport appears to be even smaller than the Springfield-Branson airport but who cares?  We even had to walk about 3 blocks from the plane to the terminal on the tarmac but with a sunny 75 degrees, it was bliss.  Inside the terminal we immediately found the luggage carousel and the Hertz counter so while Burl got our car (a red 2008 Ford Fusion – fun car except for the fact that it’s a Ford), I got the luggage and we were soon ready for our 70-mile jaunt to Mike and Annie’s!

Since we opted out of the $2 pretzels and $5 snack pack on the plane, we get some lunch and then immediately stopped at the Antigua outlet where we scored 7 leather golf gloves, 6 workout tops, 6 polo shirts, a golf skirt (for me, not Burl) and 2 fleece tops – all for $120!  Not that we really “needed” any of this stuff but Burl insists I need a new wardrobe for golf and who am I to argue?

Devin was excited to see us – or at least he was excited to see Burl.  Seems that at 10 months old he’s NOT into strangers and Annie said he was partial to her dad when they visited – must be a buddy bonding thing.  He’s such a cutie and quite entertaining as he crawls around and pulls up – not quite sure that he wants to let go and walk yet.  We’ll be back at Christmas and I’m betting he’ll be quite mobile at that time.

We bought some Michelob Ultra Cactus Lime today that Mike swears beats Bud Light Lime – I think it’s time for a taste test analysis.
