Wally World Revisited

Today I called the manager of the Wally World where we had a less-than-perfect customer experience last evening.  He was extremely nice and apologized profusely and he told me that their associates have a script to follow when someone does not find everything they need.  In addition, they are to offer to find the item while the customer is still in the store and if it’s not available, make a note of it for follow-up later.  He took down all the info at the top of my sales receipt and promised to speak with the employee.  I assured him my goal was not to get the checker in trouble – just to insure that future customers aren’t asked this question “just to make conversation.”

In answer to my daughter who wonders why I even darken the doors of Wal-Mart, the answer is simple.  They have good selection (most of the time) and they have the best prices (most of the time) – but I rarely buy meat or produce there since their quality isn’t as great as Harter House.  But for canned goods, cleaning products, frozen foods and health & beauty aids, they are hard to beat.

Plus – when Burl is driving and we need something from the store and are in the vicinity of Wally, you can bet that’s where we’ll shop.  I tell him if I die first to scatter my ashes in the aisles of Wally World so he’ll visit me on a regular basis.  :-)
