A shout-out to son Michael who today ran from the North rim of the Grand Canyon to the South rim in 5 hours and 33 minutes – a distance of 24.7 miles! His goal was to finish sub-6 hours and since he did it easily (including a 15 minute break for ice at Phantom Ranch) he now wants to train for a sub-5 hour run!
He just called to report in and let us know he accomplished his goal and is safe – and famished! He and his co-runner Dan were waiting for their lunch on the rim of the canyon- then they’ll head on back to Phoenix. We are proud of Michael but not surprised – he is a young man who sets his goals, works to accomplish them and then sets another. He’s also very family-oriented and an all-around good person – like father, like son.
Here’s a recent photo of Michael with son Devin.
A great photo of Mike and Asian Mike!
