I have a new iPhone – well, technically it’s probably a refurbished old iPhone but it was hermetically sealed in a box and the “concierge” assures me it’s probably “better than new” – at any rate, I’m hoping it’s better than the old one although he tells me I may experience the same issues I had before.
It’s frustrating that AT&T told me that if I had to send in a phone under warranty, it would be an even exchange – however, per my Apple dude, I would have to pay $29 plus tax as long as I returned the loaner phone. Exchanging at the Apple store was an even exchange so it only took a nanosecond to make that choice.
Until I get home tomorrow I don’t have all my contact info, pictures, music, calendar, bookmarks, etc. but for $29 I can live with that! The phone part works and that’s what’s most important – also the GPS and Internet are up and running – life is good!
We’re having a great time with Lydia and Julia although after a day with them, we certainly had no trouble sleeping last night. Julia had Developmental Kindergarten (DK) yesterday morning so while she was at school, we took Lydia to the play area at the mall and she and Burl played while I was at the Apple store. After we picked Julia up from school we came home and had a picnic in the backyard and they entertained us on the swings and with bubbles – and showed us their “secret” hiding place where they play “Little House on the Prairie”. I’m so glad Ralph encourages them to use their imaginations – they are fascinating to watch.
Fortunately they both took good naps so I got on the treadmill and Burl ran a few errands. Then we were off on a true adventure – a birthday party at Pump-It-Up! One of Julia’s friends turned 5 and she entertained about 15 kids at a party place full of inflatable toys. For 90 minutes it was a kids free-for-all followed by pizza, ice cream and cupcakes. Lydia was invited too and got right in the thick of things too. By time we got home, they were exhausted and we quickly got them into bed so we could dine on the Tasty Tacos that Burl had picked up for us. Yum, yum!
Today Burl and Julia have already been out for breakfast (it was supposed to be special time for just Lydia and Papa Burl but once in the car, she said NO and wouldn’t go!). Now we’re heading out for a walk in the neighborhood and to check out the garage sales. Later I’m taking Julia out to lunch and to see “Wall-E” – just a Julia and Grammie outing.
In the meantime I have to make up a new story of “The Adventures of Julia Bahoolia, Lydia Louise and the Magic Bicycle” – my own invention to entertain these two little angels who so far don’t even miss their parents.
