Wedding Bells   2 comments

Wedding bells rang today for our friends Becky and Clarence, shown here with Burl and me at their reception at the Tower Club.   The wedding was held earlier this afternoon at Elfindale where Becky was escorted by her two daughters and there were few dry eyes in the house after their friend Gary Smith conducted a very personal and moving ceremony.

Becky and I became close friends shortly after I went to work at Cox almost 24 years ago – at the time we were both married but soon divorced and discovered we had so many things in common.  She too was a strong, single woman and we both knew our independence probably was NOT our most attractive feature where men were concerned.  She thought I had gone off the deep end when I announced my engagement to Burl after an extremely short courtship and swore she would never experience anything like that!  Little did she know.

I told here that when she met the right person she “would know” but she wasn’t convinced – until she met Clarence almost two years ago.  Burl and Clarence have bonded over their love of golf so together we have lots of fun and are looking ahead to more trips together.

So here’s to Becky and Clarence – two wonderful friends who enhance each other’s lives with the love and devotion they share.  May all your days ahead be full of the joy you shared today.
