I did a quick bicycle ride to Strafford and back this morning and along the way experienced the first sign that fall is on the horizon – an obese woolly worm! I’ve always heard that the size of a woolly worm foretells how harsh winter will be and this little puppy was scary. I’m the kind of person who thinks any temp below 40 and one little flake of snow constitute a harsh winter but from the size of this critter I’d say we’re in for a lot worse than that.
I thought about running over him but decided to spare him that fate – his relatives may retaliate and send a blizzard our way – and I’m not talking Dairy Queen Blizzard either!
Here’s hoping for lots more 90+ temps and sunny skies before I have to break out the jeans and sweaters for my daily attire.
