One of the responsibilities that we Women of Substance have is to insure that future generations of WoS are identified and nurtured so they can come along behind us and carry on the important job we have before us.
Shown at the left are Vickie and her daughter, the beautiful Hannah – an engaging young woman who is well on her way to being a true Woman of Substance in 20 years! For now she’s in training under a real pro. Vick and Hannah came over today to enjoy some pool time along with Jacob, the 6-year-old son of one of Vickie’s co-workers.
While Vickie and I engaged in plenty of non-serious conversation, Hannah and Jacob enjoyed playing in the pool, going off the diving board and diving for toys. Hannah’s love of children was evident and at the age of 14 she’s ready to start babysitting having already taken a class through the Red Cross. She’s a very personable young lady who appears to have gotten all of the very best qualities her parents have to offer. I’m betting she will someday make a tremendous teacher – one of those whom the young kids adore, a teacher who makes kids want to buckle down and succeed and a teacher they remember for life. Of course I have no idea if that’s on Hannah’s horizon or not but I think whatever direction she goes, she will far exceed expectations. Dream big, Hannah!
Tomorrow is a true anomaly in Life 2.0 – I have nothing on the calendar during the day. We do plan to attend a discussion session at church tomorrow evening with our new pastors but there’s no agenda tomorrow – no meetings, lunches, classes at the gym – nothing, nada, zip! I’m thinking a bicycle ride to Rogersville sounds pretty good followed by some pool time and a good book. See – I can make my own agenda!
Cleaning, organizing, staining the deck? Nah – they can wait!
Thanks Anne for a delightful day at the pool… it’s so funny you said that Hannah would make a great teacher… I have told her that on so many occasions! Thanks for the compliements on my girl – she’s my pride and joy! You are a dear!
