I know myself very well and when it comes to “will power” there is no such thing – especially when fresh chips are placed within my reach at a Mexican restaurant. It’s a guarantee that I WILL eat them – to excess – which is why I have avoided my favorite food since I re-joined WW. However, daughter-in-law Annie absolutely loves Mexican Villa and when she’s in Springfield, no visit is complete without this gourmet delight despite the fact that they live near some awesome “real” Mexican places in Phoenix.
So last night I had to engage a powerful amount of WON’T power when we all went out to eat – and I did it and lived to tell about it! I got a beer and then Mike and I ordered a couple of flour tortillas which we spread with salsa and had for our appetizer – tasty, low points and not addictive. It helped having always-eats-healthy Mike there for support! Then Burl and I split an enchilada-style sancho and I was a happy camper – even passed when we stopped at Andy’s on the way home.
Nothing tastes as good as being thin…………and I want that experience………..and I’m getting there…….slowly!
The house is quiet again this morning – Mike and Devin stayed here last night so Annie could have a long visit with her parents and we had such fun spoiling the little guy. He decided to really crawl yesterday so now being held and cuddled are not on his agenda. They’re heading home to further baby-proof their home.
And the bike and I are off to the gym this morning………..adios!
