Went to a class today at the gym called Group Strength and by time the class was over I practically needed the strength of everyone in the group just to carry me off the court. The class kicked my butt and I loved it! The instructor was high-energy although she recognized our limitations - but still kept us moving with hand-held weights and working out on the step balance balls. I’m sure I looked quite comical trying to balance on the danged thing but I know that’s exactly what I need plus she claimed that just trying to keep ourselves upright while we did our weights was working our abs and butts. I’m sure I’ll feel it tomorrow or Friday but I’ll be ready to go again on Friday – the Friday class is called Body Sculpting and has the same instructor and she assures us it’s more of the same despite a different name.
I had visions of actually running the vacuum cleaner today but they disappeared – I did remove a bit of clutter from the dining room, finished my Rotary President Planning Guide (5 days before it’s due!) and then joined several others from Rotary to make garlic toast for tomorrow night’s annual Shrimp Feed. Naturally we had to taste test the toast for quality control purposes – wouldn’t want to serve inferior, untested toast! After several samples we declared it the best we’ve ever made – hooray for the Toastettes!
