In response to the underwhelming number of requests I have received, I am finally posting a picture of the fabulous Women of Substance. I hope all the non-existent fans of this group are now satisfied! From left to right, we are Vickie, Anne and Robin – shown here at 5 Spice in a photo shot in bad lighting with the iPhone but designed to show our fabulous smiling faces! And now for the snippets of wisdom that our trio revealed this evening:
- The Raspberry Champagne Cosmo at 5 Spice is one of the best chick drinks in town.
- Pens from Vickie’s employer ROCK – it’s a good thing my former employer didn’t stock anything this great or they would have grown legs and walked home with me!
- I was accused of being giddy due to no adult interaction today – when I mentioned that I had conducted my first Rotary board meeting, Vickie and Robin said I had just confirmed their observation!
- We hate pissy women!
- Vickie is teaching a class on sex education to the high schoolers in her church. According to Robin, the only thing these young ladies need to know is that all men love lying next to a naked women.
- Hannah has bangs and they have raised her “cool” factor to a new level. I can’t wait to meet this neat young adult – she and her mom are coming over for pool time soon.
- Vickie has a new car – a Toyota Corolla with a horn that goes “beep” and her hubby thinks is gay. A real chick car
- Note to other women over 40 – if you have a pain in your ass, it may not be your hubby – it may be a herniated disk so don’t ignore it.
- Vickie recently attended a national conference where she offended the speaker in front of 600 people – and later members of the audience came up and thanked her for her comments. Go Vickie!
- Robin lives by the words of Def Leppard – “Better to burn out than fade away.”
- Vickie saw a former neighbor this evening – they lived near each other for 8 years and the neighbor never could remember her name so always called her “Christy” which she did again tonight. Do you think it’s really Vickie’s evil twin?
