Logistics   1 comment

I made my first round-trip to the gym via bicycle this morning and it was great after I figured out all the logistics involved – had to have shoes and clothes once I got there (forgot the socks – oh well!), needed a water bottle for the bike, sunglasses, something to read on the step-climber plus a safe route.  Finally settled on a small backpack to transport my stuff there and then realized that I only had one padlock and that would be used to lock up the bike.  I could either buy a lock at the gym or rent a locker – I chose the latter as I can now keep shoes, socks, clothes, etc. in the locker and cut down on what I have to take with me.

The route I chose to get there was a mixture of residential streets or commercial venues that had sidewalks so I felt safe – except for the 50% of the drivers who insist on talking on their cell phones and don’t look both ways when making turns!  Took a slightly different path home that included more residential areas and liked it even better.  The round trip was right at 20 miles which wasn’t bad for a warm-up and cool-down.  Now for the ultimate cool-down – pool time!

  1. So, you’re exercising via bike ride on the way to the gym, and then hitting the step climber once you’re there!? Good grief, woman– stop making the rest of us look so damn lazy! Glad to read your posts lately and catch up on your Life 2.0, sounds like you’re having a great time!
