Shifting Gears

…we are home!  Arrived about 3:30 this afternoon after a short riding day – <400 miles from Elk City, OK to Springfield.  Much as I love to travel, there is no sight better than driving into our driveway and then seeing Mulligan practically do cartwheels upon seeing us.  If you ever wonder about your importance, just go away for a few days and see how your dog reacts when you return!  We were thankful to have ridden over 4600 safe miles with wonderful weather – never needed our rain gear and only had a couple of times when it was overcast.  Best of all, we got to spend time with our west coast family.

I’ve now unpacked, done a couple of loads of laundry, cooked dinner, taken the dog for a walk and started on Tammy’s birthday dinner which we are having tomorrow night even though her birthday is Thursday – nothing like dragging out the celebration – right, Tammy?  So the Strawberry Pretzel Salad is in the refrigerator along with the taco meat and I’ll finish the rest tomorrow afternoon after I get home from my dental appointment.

I’m just looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and then having coffee on the deck in the morning before I ride my bike to the fitness center – it’s time to get this bod back in shape after slacking off for several weeks.  Also need to re-join Weight Watchers to spur me into getting rid of a few pounds but that will have to wait for another day – might cut into my pool time tomorrow between the gym and the dentist.  I can already tell it’s going to be hard to work everything into my schedule!
