A Night In Old California   1 comment

Last evening I attended a hospitality event hosted by the Rotary Club of San Marino, CA.  Our group was picked up at our hotel and taken to the Old Mill in San Marino – the Old Mill is the oldest commercial building in San Marino dating back to 1816 and is now an art museum.  We had drinks and appetizers on the beautiful patio area surrounded by fragrant gardens and entertained by a Mariachi band.  Then were treated to a sumptuous Mexican buffet.  There were probably at least a dozen countries represented and I enjoyed visiting with Rotariarians from Wales (a gentleman from India who went to Wales and fell in love and never left!), Ghana, Switzerland, Canada, Nigeria, Sweden, Nepal and of course the USA.  Had it not been for the host club, we Americans would have been out-numbered.

Today I was up early and walked 2.5 miles to the Los Angeles Convention Center for a 7 a.m. breakfast.  I’m taking a break now before the opening Plenary session and later today will have dinner and drinks with a couple of neat ladies from Santa Rosa, CA whom I met last evening.

Tammy keeps me updated on the rains at home while I enjoy warm, sunny weather in southern California.  The last count from our house-sitters is that they have extracted 4 frogs from our swimming pool and only one of them was dead!  Please tell the rain to go away before we return next week!
