Celebrating Steve   1 comment

Tonight we had a belated birthday dinner for son-in-law Steve.  His actual birthday was May 30th but their schedule and ours didn’t mesh until today.  Steve is a phenomenal young man with a thirst for knowledge and a wealth of information about a wide variety of topics – everything from science fiction to gourmet cooking to anything and everything computer-related.  However his most important talent is his ability to be a wonderful husband to Tammy and for that we are all grateful!

Steve wanted plain picnic fare tonight and I appreciated that his request meshed with my limited culinary talents.  We had burgers on the grill, red-skin potato salad (old family recipe – sold at Harter House :-) ), deviled eggs, spinach/strawberry salad and DIY ice cream sundaes for dessert.  I loved that we could eat on the deck without it being unbearably hot and it was fun for just the four of us to get time to visit.

Steve even accommodated a couple of iPhone questions from me without making me feel totally stupid – in fact he tried to fix one glitch exactly the way I had tried and it was only through some serious searching that he figured out how to get the phone and PC to totally sync.  Thanks Steve – I’ll try not to bug you too much for tech support!

Here’s to Steve – thanks for helping put the “fun” in our dysfunctional family and most of all, for putting up with the rest of us.

  1. Dinner was delicious! Thanks for everything. Steve had a great time and I’m sure will have no problem spending his gift soon. But first, he has to write his “thank you” note!
