If you wonder where I’ve been for the last several days, the answer is in the title of this post. Late Tuesday night I finished reading “The Kite Runner” and sat in bed crying while dear hubby/freight train snored away. What an awesome book! I’d had it on my reading list for at least 2 years and now I know why it has earned so many rave reviews. I purposely didn’t see the movie when it was here because I hate to see a movie and then read the book – better to read first and allow my own imagination to conjure up the scenes and the people and then determine if Hollywood can do justice to it. I even remarked to a friend that it was so hard to put down that I almost could have called in sick (something I have NEVER done – yes, that’s correct, I have NEVER called in sick when I wasn’t) just to stay home and read.
