…literally….well, almost! I’ve put on 5-6 pounds since last spring and at times it seems more like 56 pounds. It’s just enough weight to mean I’m no longer a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and I’m on the cusp of clothing sizes which is the biggest irritant. Somehow I made it through the winter with the same wardrobe from the prior season but with the advent of spring (at least I THINK we’ll get spring some day soon) I decided I needed to try on some clothes last evening. NOT a good idea!
I’m not a fan of tight-fitting clothing but a few of the size 10’s in my closet are definitely going to stay there until some weight comes off my bod. I did tally up that I have 4 good pairs of work pants, 2 suits, a couple of skirts and one matching skirt/sweater set that are work-appropriate so I figure I’m good for the 8 weeks remaining in my professional career. But since I like plenty of choices, I hate the limitations that I have placed on myself. Plus I have some great items that just aren’t going to work on my bod until I get diligent about losing weight. It’s sure easy to put it on – how come it’s so danged tough to take off?
The good news is that all my bicycle shorts and swim suits fit so I’m set for 75% of my summer! Hooray for spandex!
We’re in the same boat, except it seems like a gain another 5 lbs. each month. I have no spring clothes that fit! I have not had the courage to try on my swimsuits from last year because I know it will just be too painful. Jim has been doing good, he has lost 13 lbs. in the past month. I have no motivation right now, which really concerns me. It seems like the prospect of going through the summer with nothing to wear should get me in gear! Would someone call me “Fatty Patty” to my face and get me going!

Well, I think you look GREAT (shall we revisit the carding blog again, making sure you’re over 40!?) but yes, I feel your pain. I’m kickstarting my eating and exercising regime again, THIS WEEK. We have lake plans with friends in mid-May, and that includes a swimsuit… only a month away… Ack!!
