I’m not a huge fan of the Wally World “Stupid” Center – in fact I shop there reluctantly because let’s face it, prices are less and they have a great selection (unless it’s fresh produce you’re after!). Case in point, I had several items I needed to get in the health & beauty aid line along with a hanging plant and bottle of wine for a housewarming gift – so Friday at noon I decided the only way to do one-stop efficient shopping was to head to Wally World.
I picked out my items and headed to the checkout in Lawn and Garden (no waiting) – even got a very friendly clerk who knew what she was doing. She picked up the bottle of wine, started to ring it up and got prompted by the cash register to verify that I was over 40. And then she actually carded me! You heard that right, folks – I got carded to insure I’m over 40! I started laughing and quickly pulled out my driver’s license to prove that yes, I’m well over 40 and told her I even have a daughter who is 40. She started to apologize and I told her that was quite all right – she just made my day. I’ve decided it’s really a new customer service ploy – card the old ladies and they’ll be so flattered they’ll keep coming back for more!
At this stage of the game, I take my simple pleasures any way I can get them!
Ha!! I bet you loved that… I mean, how many days away from Life 2.0 and you’re carded to make sure you’re over 40? You go, girl!
