At last – April has arrived. What a difference a day makes – 24 little hours – yesterday was cold, blustery March and today was chilly, sunny, still windy April but my mind looks out the window and sees a bit more green in the grass, a few more buds on the trees and I just KNOW that spring really is going to arrive. YES!
Despite a weather forecast that is less than gracious it looks like Saturday afternoon will be perfect for the outdoor wedding of some friends and ever-optimistic, we are making plans for a motorcycle ride on Sunday with friends.
For those who keep asking “how many days?” (until Life 2.0) I actually counted today – 48 more work days although I’m guessing I’ll take a few long weekends and reduce that number. I haven’t been keeping track but a college friend e-mailed last night to tell me her countdown to saying good-by to the 1st and 2nd-graders in Bolivar so I sent her back my number – she’ll beat me by 2 weeks! Right now 48 seems forever away and I sit in meetings and say things like “we need to do this” or “let’s don’t forget…” without consciously realizing that I won’t be there to make it happen. When will it seem real?
My favorite sign of spring – the Dow Jones was up almost 400 points today!
