Holding Pattern   Leave a comment

I feel like life is in a holding pattern at the moment – not that it’s a bad place to be, just different.  For example, when we switch to daylight saving time I expect spring to arrive- but alas, we are in this holding pattern of erratic weather where we get a glimpse of spring for 24 hours followed by more cloudy days in the 30s and 40s.  Worst of all, I have no clue what to wear!  I’m so tired of my winter wardrobe but it’s too early to pull out my spring and summer stuff.

Work also feels like limbo – my peers keep asking how many days until Life 2.0 but it’s still too far away (okay, I checked – I have 12 weeks of work left!) – and there is SO much to do, not enough time to do it and I know I have to accept that it doesn’t all have to be done by ME!  I am not indispensable and the budget will get done this year without me – still my anal-retentive nature keeps forging ahead.  (Proof of this behavior is the fact that the PowerPoint at church today had a typo in it and I spent 5 minutes bitching to myself as Grammar Police rather than listening to the message.  But why don’t these people use Spellchecker?)

Even at this moment I’m waiting!  Waiting for my beautiful daughter #2 and her equally beautiful daughters to arrive for a few days.  They just called and are in Lowrey City so the wait won’t be as long as I thought it would be.  Guess I’d better get my bod to Harter House to get dinner fixin’s so I’ll have plenty of time to play with Julia and Lydia – maybe even make it to the last half of the afternoon performance of the Shrine Circus with Papa Burl.

The next couple of days will be devoted to Being Grammie – my favorite thing to be.
