My bachelorette days are over and frankly I’m relieved and happy even though I now need to actually plan a meal for tonight and prepare it! But since the pantry was a bit low on some of my favorites, he will do the grocery shopping today which is a great trade-off in my book. Burl and Stacey had a wonderful (and accident-free) ski trip – got in 2 days on the slopes before heavy snow and fog cancelled their 3rd day. They are already planning a trip next year and invite all family members to join them – I think that’s the week I’m heading for a warm beach, but thanks for the offer!
On another topic, daughter Tammy posted today about her favorite childhood TV shows. Now I’ll admit a few years have passed since those days and some of the gray matter has probably deteriorated but my feeble memory recalls that she and her sister, Ralph, watched very little TV. Apparently, Tammy remembers it differently! I think of their childhood years as a mix of playing outside with friends and reading books but that may be directly linked to my current TV situation which is “less is more” – meaning more time to read or knit! I do like the fact that Ralph restricts TV time for the girls and Julia has been taught that the answer to “What does TV do?” is “Fry brain”! Go Ralph.
Finally – a big Happy Birthday to friend Vickie as the world celebrates the day she arrived in our midst. May the day be as wonderful as you are!
