With Burl gone on a ski trip I’ve felt like I’ve been in rehearsals for Life 2.0 this weekend – no agenda other than what I choose to do! Friday I headed to Branson after work and dear friend Bev and I enjoyed a wonderful evening with all the right ingredients – homemade soup and bread, a pail of frozen margaritas and 2 dear friends who never run out of things to discuss. She preceeded me in leaving work by a few years and I tell her she’s my role model for living life to the fullest – so of course we’re already making plans for weekdays on her boat this summer and our first chick trip in many years. Destination still unknown but New York City and some Broadway plays are on the horizon.
Yesterday I met a friend for a rush hour show (“Definitely, Maybe” – ranked about an 8 out of 10) and then we had sushi at Kai. It was my first time to eat there and I loved it – we got lettuce wraps and a couple of different sushis and split them. I liked that they didn’t rush us through the evening – excellent service.
Today I revved up my Life 2.0 training into full gear – got up early, enjoyed reading the morning paper and drinking coffee and played holy hookey which is something we NEVER do (in fact, I don’t think Burl would even think of missing church if we’re in town). I could have gone – was up in plenty of time – had no excuse except I just wanted a day to totally relax and I have! I’ve worked on our taxes, ridden the stationary bike, cleaned out the refrigerator (no comments please, Tammy), read, had coffee at the Mudhouse with a friend and done laundry. Not bad for a cold winter day.
Now I must get dressed up for the Oscars – more on that adventure later!
Oh, please you know I have to comment on the refrigerator since I found salad dressing that expired in 2006 last time I was at your house! Good job! Now I don’t have to inspect everything next time I’m there.
Sounds like your day was very nice.
