Burl’s bags (and skis) are loaded in the car so I can arise way earlier than I like to take him to the airport in the morning – destination Salt Lake City for his annual dad/daughter ski trip w/daughter Stacey. I’m thrilled because a) I don’t have to go try to act like I enjoy anything that has to do with skiing and b) I get a few days of total “me” time. Now, don’t get me wrong – I love this man and wouldn’t ever want to trade my married state but daughter Tammy can relate to the fact that sometimes it’s nice to drop out from that routine and create my own! And besides, he’ll be back on Monday evening – hopefully with no broken bones.
In the meantime, I have plenty to do to keep me out of trouble. BUT – I will miss him! Aside from the obvious reasons, I will now have to go out in the mornings to get the newspaper, I will have to warm the bed for myself at night and if I need anything from the store or errands run, I’ll have to do them myself. NOT FUN! Hurry home, dear!
Try to manage. If you need a husband, you can always borrow mine! Kidding, I have plenty of things for him to do around here!
