Valentine’s Day that is! Updated for the 21st century, it would be “STD for Everyone” and that’s certainly NOT the message I’m sending. My Valentine has already given me a beautiful rosebud and our gifts for each other are wrapped and waiting to be opened tonight. Since we imposed a $50 limit at Christmas, he’s now getting what I had already purchased so am hoping he heard my hints (indoor bicycle trainer w/book rack) – but the box looks too small! Oh well, whatever his surprise, I know I’ll like it because he’s quite the thoughtful guy. He offered to take me out to dinner tonight but I have bigger plans after work – it’s haircut and magic shampoo day – so he’s cooking instead which I will enjoy more than a crowded restaurant.
V.D. has always been a big deal for us since it’s also my dad’s birthday – had he lived he would be 95 today but I echo his thoughts that if you can’t have good quality of life – with the ones you love and NOT in an “institution” – then get the heck out of Dodge, which he did.
