I’m “Tired” of This Weather   1 comment

What was slush yesterday morning en route to work was pretty much a full sheet of crunchy ice this morning – but I was taking it slow and doing quite well until I realized I had a flat tire while on the freeway.  Took the first exit and pulled into the Price Cutter parking lot and confirmed my diagnosis.  Bummer – this was a tire we bought just a few weeks ago and it had about 1200 miles on it!

So I naturally called Burl (Happy Birthday Dear) who rescued me, took me to work and then had to futz with the tire on and off all day.  Turns out I picked up a very nasty piece of metal which in the course of just a couple of miles of driving pretty much tore the inside of the tire to shreds – obviously beyond repair.  Good-by $108 but I’m back in business.

When I was single I had a sign on my refrigerator that said “If it has tires or testicles, it WILL cause you problems” – but today that only applies to tires in my life.

  1. Too bad about your tire; I guess that’s the hazard of braving it out in all this yucky weather… At least it wasn’t a broken windshield or your car in the ditch- have seen lots of those the last couple of days! Hooray for Burl… in keeping with your sign on the fridge– the tire caused you problems, but this time the other FIXED the problem. He’s a keeper. :)
