We’re home! Left Mike and Annie’s house at 1:00 p.m. CST and were home by 9:00 p.m. after stopping for a leisurely dinner. Such a deal! Mulligan greeted up with big sloppy kisses and followed us around for an hour before finally convincing Burl to just sit down and let him rest his head on Burl’s feet – not that it took too much to talk Burl into that move!
Obviously we were missed – not only by Mulligan but also by Mike, John and Mitt – as in Huckabee, McCain and Romney – plus Jim Talent who also called on Mitt’s behalf. Seems we are being courted for Tuesday’s vote but we may fool them all this time – still not sure if we’re going to vote “for” someone we want to win or go to the opposite party and vote for the one we hope is most likely to lose if nominated in November. We did that once before and it worked but should we tempt fate?
We have unpacked everything, the first load of laundry is already in the dryer, the mail has been opened, I’ve set up all the bills to pay online, updated the check register and now I’m ready for a hot shower and my sweats as soon as I fix the coffee for in the morning. Even a week of vacation can’t take away my over-achieving, anal-retentive nature.
P.S. I also knit a scarf and hat today while flying and in the car driving from Tulsa! Birthday gift for a dear friend.
