This evening I got together with friends Heidi and Jill to knit, drink wine and bitch a bit – a perfect girls evening together! Heidi and I were bicycling buddies about 15 years ago and can still pick up the same vein of conversation and laugh outrageously at and with ourselves. Marriage for both, a daughter for her and moving away have interferred with us staying in close touch but now we live less than a mile apart and have vowed to start knitting together and are even talking about starting a book club again. I also know I can count on Heidi to go see the artsy-fartsy flicks with me during the day when Burl’s on the golf course.
Jill is my current bicycling buddy (we’ve done the MS150 together for the last 3 years) and is new to knitting so tonight was a tutorial for her. I got her started on a sample piece and by the end of the evening she was working on her first scarf. I picked up the poncho I started last fall for Isabella and hope to finish it this week – if I like it as well as I think I will then I’ll start one for Lydia. Of course the felted bag Heidi is making sure looked cute too so may need to make one of those………….so many projects…………but soon I’ll have the time to devote to them!
