Chances are I won’t be awake at midnight to sing Robert Burns’ famous poem – at least I’m hoping that by that hour I’ll be sound asleep!  We are looking forward to a very low-key New Year’s Eve although Burl is the real party animal when it comes to this annual event.  As a compromise we are having our golfing friends over for a potluck and some Mexican Train dominoes – naturally we’ll include a bit of wine but I’m not too worried about any over-indulgences with this mild group.

I’ve heard that the real way to tell if you are an introvert or extrovert is to define your perfect NYE celebration – while Burl swears I’m 100% extrovert, my perfect festivities would involve a roaring fire, a glass of wine, some good music and an awesome book – along with Burl!  My 100%+ extrovert husband would opt for a party or night on the town – who says opposites don’t attract?!?

Whatever your pleasure may you look back fondly on 2007 embracing the good times and knowing that the bad times usually mellow in our memories.  Here’s to 2008 - a year filled with family, friends and more blessings than you can count.
