Celebrate Good Times   1 comment

Six years ago this evening I drove to Springfield Brewing Co. to have dinner with a gentleman with whom I had been emailing on the internet – we had connected on a singles site and I was hoping to meet someone who would take me to dinner and to a movie occasionally, maybe do some traveling.  Marriage was definitely NOT on my agenda!  I dressed in a red sweater, black pants and high heeled boots because I already knew my suitor was height-challenged and I needed to know right away if he would be intimidated if I was taller than he was.  He had gone shopping that day with his daughter and bought a new shirt and sweater and had a rose waiting on the table for me.

The rest, as they say, is history!  10 days after we met we decided to get married, within 6 weeks I had the “goods” (i.e. diamond ring!) and we now return to the Brewco every year on December 13th to have a toast and eat dinner.  Burl wore the same duds he wore that evening and sure enough, when I got in the car he had a rose and a card for me.  What a sentimental sweetheart I married!  I am more blessed than I deserve.
