1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper most of the time, gift bags when I’m in a hurry
2. REAL OR FAKE TREE? Real
3. When do you put up the tree? A couple of weeks before Christmas
4. When do you take the tree down? No later than New Year’s Day
5. Do you like eggnog? It’s okay – but too full of calories. However eggnog always reminds me of one of our family’s favorite Christmas stories.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? A doll that wore real baby clothes – I was 6 at the time and my mom actually got out some of the clothes I had worn and let me play with them. I really thought I was cool!
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, several – I collect them when I travel
8. Hardest person to buy for? My husband
9. Easiest person to buy for? My daughter, Tammy
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever got? Don’t remember anything specific but it was probably re-gifted or sent to the thrift shop for a tax deduction!
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Late summer – early fall
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Of course – haven’t you?
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Lasagna – I’ve already made two pans of it and put it in the freezer for Christmas Day 2007
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Have done white lights for years but may switch to colored this year
17. Favorite Christmas song? Silent Night
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Wherever my daughters are – this year we are staying home
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers? Doubt it – just hope that’s not the final Jeopardy question if I’m ever on that show!
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? I like Christmas Eve but with little kids it ends up being Christmas morning
22. Where are your favorite places to shop? Wherever my mouse takes me – I prefer cyber-shopping. If I have to go to a real store I like Target, TJ Maxx and Marshalls
23. Most annoying thing about this time of year? People who say “Happy Holidays” – there’s a reason it’s called Christmas!
24. What I love most about Christmas? Communion service on Christmas Eve
