Unfortunately, last night’s big game between MU and OU didn’t turn out in our favor. I had a bad premonition in the first half but when we tied the game just before half-time I was a little more hopeful. Turns out my first foretelling was correct – the team that kicked Jayhawk butt a week ago was boomered by the Sooners. We watched the first half while at a party at Touch, then hurried across town to catch the final quarters from the confines of the Shrine Mosque – actually we only watched the third quarter and by then we had turned to fair weather fans and decided to dance instead!
Now we wait for the new BCS rankings to be released and see where we will play and who we will play – most likely a New Year’s Day game. It was a fun week for the Tigers and let’s hope it doesn’t taken them almost 50 years to see the top spot again. As for Chase Daniels, the Heismann trophy won’t be his this year.
Today is the Toys for Tots motorcycle ride – the temp is rapidly falling from a high of almost 70, the rain is coming down and my chances of riding behind Burl are somewhere between slim and none! But I have my own Honda and the Accord keeps me nice and dry. We can still meet our friends to eat and the toys we have purchased will still go to the kids and that’s what the event is really all about anyway.
Yeah, that was a disappointing game. It was a totally different team than the one that showed up for the KU game. Oh well – I’m still a fan!
