I spent last evening assisting Tammy at her booth at Winterfest – actually my job was to smile, write up tickets and pretty much stay out of her way since she’s the artist and knows all about her jewelry. She had lots of repeat customers as well as new ones and it appears she’ll have a very successful show. Cindy dropped by for a bit and we cruised the other booths which offered a wide array of goodies but in the end, I spent my $ with Tammy. Always best to keep it in the family!
Today has been a collage of activities – had to change my haircut appointment from next week which resulted in being at the beauty shop at 7:15 a.m. but that left me plenty of time to have breakfast with my good friend Jan. Our birthdays are less than a week apart so we have a Jan-Anne birthday celebration and for the last several years we’ve gone to Anton’s for breakfast. Jan and I became friends when your daughters Claire and Ralph bonded on the first day of kindergarten at Greenwood and to this day, the girls are still the best of friends. I miss seeing Jan as often as I did before I married Burl since we lived in the same ‘hood and often walked together.
Tammy needed her phone charger so I took it to her and ended up staying for about an hour and helping (?) again – mostly catching up with old friends but those are the perks of the job when you volunteer. On the way to see Tammy I detoured by a new shop, She’s Crafty, which just infused me with the desire to spend my days knitting. The owner is an engaging young mom whose infectious enthusiasm will definitely have me shopping there often. Note to my kids – I think I can come up with lots of future gift ideas at this place!
Tonight we have a work soiree to attend and I hear they are bringing in a couple of extra big-screen TVs to the restaurant to insure we can all watch THE GAME – that’s the MU-OU game for any of my readers who aren’t into college football. Then we head to the Shrine for their fall ceremonial dance (and hopefully TV coverage!). The burning question right now is what to wear – I want to be sufficiently glitzy for the work party but have to choose something that can be easily cleaned since I’ll smell like an ashtray after I leave the Shrine Mosque. Decisions, decisions.
