Into The Wild   1 comment

No Monday Night football for us this evening.  Instead we ventured to the Moxie Cinema to see “Into the Wild” which deserves all the Oscar buzz it’s generating.  Sean Penn is absolutely brilliant as the director and Emile Hursh’s acting is outstanding. He’s supported by a eclectic and talented cast including Marcia Gay Hardin who is one of my favorites.  If you haven’t seen it, you have one more chance tomorrow and then it’s gone from Springtown.  Of interest to us was the fact that it sold out tonight – of course the Moxie only seats about 75 but still, this is Monday night – in Springfield no less – and the rest of the downtown area looked pretty sleepy at 9:45 when the show got out!  Best of all, I got a glass of red wine at intermission and savored it all through the last half of the show!  Ah, the simple pleasures of life!

  1. Wine… at the movies? I’ll have to check this place out!! Seriously, I have heard great things about the Moxie. We will have to go see a movie there, unfortunately will not be able to make the last showing of “Into the Wild” tonight. Darn! N.
