It’s been a crazy week at work – makes me think it’s July and I’m in the middle of budget season because I have been so swamped – meetings, deadlines, meetings, inservices to teach, did I mention meetings, a big new project, oh yes, and meetings. Makes me ponder how much more productive I would be if I didn’t have to go to so darned many meetings. Several years ago I read a time-saver suggestions for executives that said you should always hold meetings in rooms without chairs because if no one can sit down, business will get done quicker and everyone can get back to being productive!
Now I’m packing tonight to go to Cape Girardeau tomorrow for 2 days of….are you ready?…MEETINGS! This time it’s for the Girl Scouts so I get to use my vacation time and part of the weekend to meet! However, when you volunteer it’s just different – you know the meeting is by choice and that certainly changes the perspective. So I need to finish packing so I can get up early, drive for 5 hours and be ready to eat and meet at noon – are you jealous? Didn’t think so!
You know, any time I start missing the world of “real work” all I have to do is read your blog. Think I’ll stick with being an artist. At least my meetings are more fun!
