So what did you do with your extra hour today? Mine enabled me to catch a few extra zzzzzzzzz’s this morning, drink another cup of coffee and still make early church – such a deal! On this gorgeous fall day we were excited to get out on the motorcycle for the first of several Toys for Tots rides in the Ozarks. We met the Shrine Cruisers for breakfast and then headed to Branson where we met up with several hundred motorcyclists to participate in a short ride and then eat a yummy dinner at the VFW hall in Hollister, MO. It was pure Americana with Santa leading the ride and then being greated by vets going back to WWII who thanked us for sharing toys for kids in Taney County at Christmas – especially those kids who have a parent serving in the Iraq war.
Our ride home took us up a lovely winding road featuring lots of fall color – or as much as it appears we will get this year. I fear the ice storm from last winter has impacted our fall beauty more than I thought it would. Now Mulligan is gazing at me with those eyes that say “can’t we go for a walk, Mom?” I’m such a pushover for this mutt!
