Stacey took Monday off from work so while Burl and Len played the south course at Torrey Pines we decided to just hang out. We had considered the world famous Zoo but decided to leave that for our next visit. All we wanted was exercise, shopping, food and the BEACH!
We left the house and walked a brisk couple of miles to the local coffee shop where we got caffeine and indulged in a bit of shopping at the outdoor mall. Some Talbots, some Ann Taylor Loft and we were good to go. We followed the walking trail near their home on the way back – a great outdoor area that winds along the canyon rim in back of their house.
Alex was now itching to get to the beach so we loaded the car with his gear and in 10 minutes were at Ponto Beach and he was in the freezing water in his wetsuit riding the waves on his boogie board. Stacey and I walked along the beach for over an hour and then climbed to the top of a lookout for a more expansive view.
By now Alex was starving so we drove along the ocean on the 101 to a little Mexican place they like. Naturally we opted for the outdoor seating. – I could get used to this climate real easily!
After the guys returned we headed off to Alex’s soccer practice. Stacey and I figured since there was a walking trail there we may as well take advantage of it – had to walk off some of those yummy chips from lunch!
This morning Burl and I did the walk for coffee and now we are getting ready to play tourists for the day with Len as our guide to San Diego.
