Winding Our Way Through Wisconsin   Leave a comment

Tonight finds us at the Everest Inn B and B in Wausau WI. This historic inn has a wonderful couple for innkeepers – they directed us to a local Italian place just 2 blocks away for dinner and have provided all sorts of guidebooks and suggestions for activities in the area. Now we have to decide if we want to stick around until Saturday or keep heading west and south. Decisions, decisions.

Before we left Marquette this morning we hiked the nature trail at Presque Point along Lake Superior. Next stop was in Ishpeming for a tour of the US national Ski Museum which had Burl itching to be on the slopes. Even though I’d rather get a root canal than get on skis I did find it interesting.

We continued south and soon left Michigan behind but at our lunch stop just over the border we were still able to order a UP pasty – I definitely have to get a recipe for them and make them at home

The afternoon consisted of beautiful riding under cloudless skies and temps near 80. Here’s hoping for more of the same tomorrow.
